This week, the Chattahoochee Valley has seen varied health inspection scores for its dining establishments. Wendy’s on Victory Drive received an 88, while Chef Chang’s Asian Grill achieved a 90. Notably, several restaurants, including Taco Bell, Country Wings, and Firehouse Subs, managed to score a perfect 100. The inspections highlighted both commendable practices and areas needing improvement across these eateries.
The Wendy’s outlet located at 3639 Victory Drive faced several issues during its recent inspection. Inspectors noted that the restaurant lacked paper towels at the handwashing sink in the main kitchen area, posing hygiene concerns. Additionally, French toast and biscuits stored in the walk-in freezer were not adequately sealed or covered, risking contamination from overhead sources. Furthermore, a food employee was observed without proper hair restraints, which is a violation of health regulations. Another critical point was the absence of the most recent inspection score, a perfect 100 from a follow-up check last September, which should have been prominently displayed as mandated by law. This followed a previous score of 75 in August, indicating fluctuations in compliance.
Chef Chang’s Asian Grill, situated at 6381 Milgen Road, also encountered some violations but maintained a respectable score of 90. Inspectors identified two primary issues: a food pot was improperly stored inside the handwashing sink in the main kitchen area, and containers holding raw beef, chicken, egg drop soup, and teriyaki sauce were left uncovered in the reach-in cooler within the main kitchen. Despite these infractions, the restaurant retained its high overall rating.
In contrast, three local establishments—Taco Bell on Macon Road, Country Wings on Macon Road, and Firehouse Subs on Gateway Road—achieved flawless scores. These restaurants demonstrated exemplary adherence to health and safety standards, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for their patrons. Such consistent performance underscores their commitment to maintaining top-notch operational practices.
Each week, the community looks forward to updates on health inspections, providing valuable insights into the cleanliness and safety measures adopted by various dining spots in the region. This ongoing scrutiny helps ensure that all establishments meet stringent health guidelines, ultimately benefiting both operators and customers alike.
